Vecoplan has been awarded a contract to design and build the front-end material processing and preparation system for Brightmark Energy’s new plastics-to-fuel plant in Ashley, Indiana. Vecoplan’s prep system will incorporate a variety of technologies engineered to deliver feedstock that meets specifications vital to the plant’s successful production of transportation fuel.
At Lesdrevmash, the international trade fair for machinery, equipment, fittings, tools and components for the woodworking and furniture industry (Moscow, 22 to 25 October), Vecoplan AG will be presenting the single-shaft shredder VAZ 80 for the processing of scrap wood.
Compact.Robust.Powerful and extraordinarily efficient.With the VEZ 3200 (Vecoplan refuse-derived fuel shredder), the environmental technology company has developed a powerful single-shaft pre-shredder with high throughput capacity. It is ideally suited for the manufacture of refuse-derived fuels from production and sorting waste, packaging material and the high-calorific fraction of domestic and commercial waste for use as an energy source in cement works and power stations.
In-house recycling has become well established with plastics processors. They
recycle their waste and feed it back into production. This enables them to use
uncontaminated raw materials and reduce manufacturing costs. Vecoplan supplies
efficient machines which shred and pulverise large-volume input material. These
process steps are combined with the conveyor equipment. With a modern and
intelligent machine design, this turns a shredder into an integrated production
component. Reject material can be fed back “in-line”.
The VTH 65 is engineered for the single stage size reduction of lineal plastic scrap. It produces granulate that can be reintroduced directly into the manufacturing process. By eliminating the need for multiple machines and multiple processing steps, the VTH 65 not only saves on initial capital investment, but it also saves valuable production time and plant floor space.
Biomass combined heat and power plants (BMCHP) produce electrical energy from biogenic solids – and additional heat which can be used efficiently. In order for the combustion process to run smoothly, the mass must first be processed mechanically to obtain a homogenous unit which is free from extraneous material. Vecoplan supplies systems for storing, dosing and conveying the different material for this purpose. The machine builder tailors and matches these systems to the particular application – for example at Burmeister & Wain Scandinavian Contractor A/S. Vecoplan has designed individual fuel charging and processing systems at five sites for the Danish manufacturer and BMCHP operator.

Putting an end to ghost nets
The international recycling company Tönsmeier became a partner of WWF Deutschland (World Wide Fund for Nature in Germany) in September 2015, and since then has been working to rid the Baltic Sea of ‘ghost nets’, i.e. abandoned fishing nets made of plastic. The environmentally-friendly recycling of these polypropylene and polyamide ghost nets is being tested – so Vecoplan® AG was brought in to create an optimum process for transporting, processing and recycling the salvaged material – and the results of initial tests have been positive.
Millions of bags filled with household trash arrive at material recovery facilities daily. Much of this trash is recyclable, but first you have to open the bags. The new VSA 250 T Bag Breaker from Vecoplan does this on an industrial scale.
